I love biking in winter and snow, it’s a lot of fun, I ride comfortably at -15C. Past few days it’s gotten warmer though and more icy. Going over a bridge a few days ago and the water that was just a puddle a few hours before was suddenly above the axle, my feet well under water. Today the ice is way worse, I had my toddler in a trailer and going downhill the trailer started going sideways.
Studded tiers are amazing, I’ve never once been close to falling, hopefully the temperature will fall again soon😁

  1. That give me anxiety!! BRAVE. I’d probably ride in peoples yards instead of the road. I hope I never see conditions this extreme where I live! KUDOS to you

  2. Sweden or some other nordic country if I had to guess? Roads looked like that where I live the whole of last week. The bike paths were even worse, all frozen over tracks and footprints. A damn nightmare to navigate, with or without studded tires!

  3. Nice! I’ve got a similar Trek E-bike. Ordered studded tires today. I just moved to Minneapolis in October, surprisingly no snow yet.

Even if I felt like I had control in these conditions, I would have zero confidence in the cars on the road staying in control…

  5. You guys are way tougher than me I thought I was hard for my 12 mile 50 degrees commute at 3am but ice takes the cake .
