Welcome to the New Bicycle Touring Series where we plan on cycling the North Western Countries in Europe starting in the UK. After a shaky night on the Atlantic Ocean we arrive at the South coast of Great Britain. Exceptional sunny weather sets us of to a great start and we immediately get a taste of what’s to come: The notoriously steep hills as far as the eye can see, wonderful people and the friendly sheep that keep us company throughout this first stretch. Meanwhile we explore the tranquil countryside of Devon and the mystical ‘Tors’ of Dartmoor.

  1. Plymouth!!! 🇺🇲 have you ever thought about putting a month and year on the beginning of your videos? I'm never sure how long ago it was filmed especially because our seasons are different. Just a thought. Thank you for sharing and allowing us to travel and learn from you both.

  2. Nice one both. So happy you like our high hedges – they're actually very old and are very good habitats. I was enjoying that so much I was hoping for part 2 and 3 and 4. All the best. Mark

  3. Just managed to catch up with your videos massive welcome to the UK we are honoured to have you here and I hope it hasn't been too hot for you.ride safe

  4. Hay youse two ….. just recently completed a UK tour it was beautiful apart from that weather …. but I can't control that so I don't complain too much …. up the east coast down the west with a trip to Northern Ireland and into the highlands … you can see in my page …. I hope you enjoy it as much As i did being Scottish i had doubts about cycling in England but they showed me sooooo much love had no trouble wildcamping at all if in doubt … ASK …. I'm certain you will love it watch out for North Yorkshire moors thats Tough but enjoy every second lots of Love from a Scottish two wheeled Brother …. happy trails ❤️🙏👊

  5. Fantastic video. I really hope the UK treated you well. Apparently that ferry crossing is great for whale sightings. Did you see any?

  6. Hope you enjoy the rest of your UK trip. My partner and I did the Route 3 from Bristol to Cornwall, camping en route in Exmoor, man, those hills!! We will be publishing our experience in a small book about to be printed. Bon voyage x

  7. nice to see you back, love the UK but I have a question, is it allowed to do wild camping in the UK, I tried once long ago and was woken up by police telling me it was forbidden. They were kind enough not to fine me.

  8. Heading North out of Cornwall is hilly all the way to Bristol and beyond.
It gets easier as you approach the Midlands on the West, then Cheshire flattens out a lot (on the West).
If you head East, towards Derbyshire/Yorkshire then you'll hit the Peak District and the Pennines. That's tough cycling…. but worth it for the scenery.

  9. I left England 20 years ago. I will never go back. But it does look pretty. Following your adventures and happy you were not killed by the Thai loonies (where I live now) as the pandemic hit you. Planning a cycle adventure of my own. So you inspire me.

  10. Yet we've lost 50% of our hedgerows since World War II – and around 60% of the hedgerows we still have aren't in good condition. So caring for our hedgerows is a real way we can tackle the environmental challenges of our time.

  11. Grew up in Plymouth, riding my bike through those very lanes (although Plym valley was a real off road track in those days, no gravel and tarmac!!). Not been back to England in over ten years, great to see it again. Great video!!

  12. Yes, we have lots of winding roads lined by hedges in the countryside. I expect you really appreciated getting to Dartmoor. Wonderful views can be had from there, especially atop the Tors. I think you’d love the Lake District and the Brecon Beacons too amongst many other places. Just noticed this vid is 3 months old, but a belated welcome to the UK anyway 😊 If you visit Scotland, please make sure you have head nets to protect you from the midges. They’re savages 😂 Happy journies 🍂🍁

  13. Hi. We really love your videos. We have come back to watch as it has been awhile. We watched this but I can't figure out how to watch this series "in order". The next one I see is two months ago and this one was 5 months ago. Thank you if you can help.

  14. How do you like your AeroPress? I take that with me whenever I do my annual summer tours and find it makes terrific coffee. Plus, it's really easy. Like you guys, I don't see much point in getting out of my sleeping bag if there's not the hope of a nice cup of coffee waiting to greet me.
