Bogus to get a penalty just to have someone stand there for safety reasons. Safety of the gymnasts should be paramount, so why penalize for taking safety precautions for the vaulter, as long as they dont touch the gymnast. The penalty therefore tries to induce one to be less safe. That said, Biles is amazing. That vault is crazy. Back in the day, a single pike was just about the top difficulty vault. She has so many moves, they cant call it just the Biles, but need to add numbers too. Well done Simone!

I was there and I gotta say: Simone is really really nice and kind. She waved and smiled at us standing in the crowd and seemed really down to earth. And it is really awesome to see the skill in real life because you can see the huge difference in height of the skill from everyone elses skills.
