Mid 70s or newer for sure. Probably had arabesque 600, and maybe upgraded to suntour by previous owners? Looks to be in wonderful condition overall, and just in need of an overhaul.
What’s your plan for it?
Best guess based on frame features is late 70’s to early 80’s, like ’78 to ’82. I wouldn’t judge based on components, they often get changed.
Mercian is still in business, contact them with the serial number and they should be able to confirm the age.
