Dear all,
I am too asking for advice of the knowledgeable community before I bite the bullet and hit that buy button.
Recently decided that a gravel bike is not enough and I’d like to try MTB – **in and around Munich, Germany**. I now see what seem to be some pretty good deals:

**I am 33 y.o., 66 kg, 175 cm and this will be my first MTB experience**. I am rather risk averse, so probably won’t even try any of the scary stuff out there, but I’m interested in finding out how far this journey will take me. **Probably will try to train for a trans-Alp and try out the local trails, as well as take an MTB course.** I am interested in going both up and down
In general, I guess **Occam H30** would be enough for me, definitely for the start. However, I would probably need to upgrade the brakes at some point – which I won’t do myself, so I guess it’s gonna cost something like 200-300 Eur. Which alone bridges the gap to the more expensive bikes where I probably won’t need to upgrade anything.
Also I kinda like the looks (silly reason, yeah) of the **Marin**, but scared a bit that it has a carbon main triangle (which sounds cool, tho). I am quite careful with equipment, but don’t want to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown every time I get on a packed train with it.
I don’t think I need the long travel of the **Occam H20**, but it has better components than the H30.
As for **Canyon**, I guess it’s not the best deal of the 4.
So what do you guys think? Many thanks in advance!
