what would I gain from getting a bike with a 105 vs my advant x microshift?
Currently I have a Poseidon X microshift (https://99spokes.com/bikes/poseidon/2021/dropbar-poseidon-x). I’ve added Continental Grand Prix 5000 Performance Road Bike Tire because I spend most of my time on paved surfaces.
When compared to other bikes with the 105 group set on thing that comes up is the top speed. It’s like an 8-9 mph difference. Ideally this is a bike that I can get long rides in, short rides and even get some road races in on.
I know that I’ll never be the fastest out there. I’m mainly a runner and a slower one at that. But will this bike be holding me back? I only have room for one bike

Are you seeing the top speed in the gearing section of the 99 Spokes website? That graphic is trying to give you a graphical representation of the different gear ratios that come with a particular bike’s chain ring(s) and cassette. If you don’t want to go fast then it’s actually better to have a lower top speed and gain easier climbing gears. I live in a hilly city and would be struggling if I didn’t have a 1:1 climbing gear on my bike.
