My setup is a Shimano SLX 1×12 rear derailleur and cassete, with a Shimano CN-M7100 chain.
Up until yesterday I was running a WolfTooth xsync2 chainring, but I replaced it with an Ochain that has a RaceFace narrow wide 104BCD chainring.
I noticed two issues. The new chain seems like it doesn’t want to fully engage with the chainring. Without the chain guide on the bashgaurd, it would climb off the chainring when pedalling.
The old chain did engage and seemed to run just fine. With or without the bash guard.
I got the new chain to run ok after I installed the chain guide, but now the master link is sticking every revolution.
I did check visually that the master link is fully locked, but I did notice it was pretty hard to get it locked.
Any thoughts or advice?

To clarify:
I replaced the chain and chainring at the same time. The new and old chains are both Shimano CN-M7100.
The old chain seemed to run ok with the new chainring, but the new chain doesn’t seem to engage right.

You can verify that the master link is fully engaged by positioning it between the cassette and chainring on the “top” section of chain and giving the pedal/crank a sharp whack with your hand as a fist. Your dinner have to hit it that hard, just a firm and sharp whack. This should fully seat the master link halves if they aren’t already. Also, verify the chain and link are not installed backwards. I’m not sure that would cause the issue you are having but it will effect shift performance.
are you sure you got the shimano 12 speed chain ring? it should say shi-12 on it and the marking are different from the standard rings. Looking at the video, that ring does not match the shi-12 compatible ring.
