Their behaviour is rude and arrogant unprofessional. The way they act is not doing themselves any favours and makes people more suspicious that they got something to hide. What's wrong with one guy with a camera their reaction is totally over the top.
If I were you would use cloud backup for your videos just get a cheap phone with mobile SIM data and use Bluetooth from camera to phone.
These security are license d but their behaviour is totally unacceptable. I would take their ID and report them to the body authority that issues security licenses these guys are unfit to deal with public swearing and assaulting.
For your spy cam check out the glasses you can get very good look like sunglasses with a discreet covert tiny camera. Or get hi vis vest jacket with a pvc clear pocket and put a GoPro type flat camera in the pocket same as police and security use but with it inside a velcro or button down pocket it's quite hard to get the camera out and off you unless two or more guys hold you down. If I were you mate due to the risk of assault with some very unsavoury looking characters staying in these places, I'd seriously consider going equipped with the red face paint spray bottles that spray several feet stain skin and temporary blind for a few minutes..those are totally legal by UK police for self defence if attacked..also you can get pepper spray/mace style spray similar to police use which is again legal. Get a utility belt and hi vis vest and warn them you will spray them if they behave aggressively. It will probably deter them.
