I have a Ebike with 2.3mm thick 220mm rotors and my pads often get slightly glazed. they still grab fine and don’t really squeak unless i use the brakes a lot. Is it worth it to sand when they get like this or should i just leave them alone. I don’t want to have to sand the pads every few times i ride

I never have a problem with overheating the brake or rotor in the winter but the pads keep getting slightly glazed
These are fine. Pads should have a smooth surface and can indicate a slight appearance of glazing even when it doesn’t deter performance. Pads don’t grab the rotor simply with material to rotor interface, they bed-in which can appear as a glaze sometimes. What they do is get hot through friction and deposit a layer on the rotor called the transfer layer and it is with a proper transfer layer being deposited that the pads are most effective and designed to operate.
Why do you keep taking them off if they’re working fine?
edit: asking as someone who regularly takes things apart on simple jobs “checking things out” and occasionally breaks parts that were perfectly fine lol
