This was April 2005, I think. I got a plane to Barcelona, taking a clamp-on pannier rack and bags, small tent, sleeping bag, roll mat. I bought a cheap bike in Barcelona and a couple of spare inner tubes. I cycled home to Malvern. It took 10 days. I had to take a short cut, crossing the channel at Caen to Portsmouth, instead of Calais to Dover.
