Cleaning my bike and the thru axle cover looked loose, I popped it off and saw this. Anybody experienced this before? Looks like corrosion. On the phone with Canyon to see what it can be and if it’s safe to ride.

Looks like you’ve pulled something off that wasn’t supposed to come off and severely damaged your frame in the process.
Just looks like adhesive to me, the carbon adhesive we use at work comes in thin sheets in white, grey and black and go between the aluminium insert and carbon sheets/ other bits of carbon as required.
You’ve definitely got carbon laminate peeling off so there will be some structural integrity issues, I’d ask them about their crash replacement policy as I seem to remember it being pretty alright, I’d be surprised if they covered that under warranty!
I probably wouldn’t ride that anymore, there’s not much left to hold the insert in place! The inserts are usually about the size of the black bit and will have between 1 or 3 layers of carbon over them.
