Does anyone know how to get this back wheel off? I can wiggle it a bit but can’t pull it back. Just brute force it? It’s a trek ALR5 (I’m completely new to fixing bikes on my own)

I pulled that Bontrager switch lever permanently off when I purchased my Trek and use a 6mm hex tool instead
In which direction are you ‘pulling’? This a thru-axle, which is screwed on. Not a quick release lever.
Righty-tighty, lefty-loose (you need to turn it leftwards/counterclockwise).
If that isn’t working. try adding a tiny dot of penetrating oil to the other side of the axle, assuming you can see the treads. There may be a plastic cap on the other side which may be easy to remove to access them.
It’s not a quick-release lever where you pivot it back, it rotates like the hand on a clock to remove the axle (counter-clockwise). If it’s like other treks, that lever is just a convenience thing; you can remove it from the thru-axle and just use a 6mm hex wrench if you want. (It takes a little effort because there’s an o-ring to give some friction, but it just pulls straight out from the axle/hub.)

Whoa, I presume you haven’t had to deal with a flat yet? I am a bit shocked the person whom you purchased it from didn’t go over this with you.
