Hi Bikepacking!
So I recently shipped this Karate Monkey and it got damaged during shipping. What do y’all think about the size/ location of the dent? Will this likely get worse over time?
This is to be my bikepacking rig, should I be more concerned since it will be loaded up?
Thanks for your help!

Nah, It will be fine.
Just have a shop fix it. They use a special clamp to reshape it back to the original. If any filling needs to be done, they will solder fill it and you wont even notice it.
Since it is steel, a shop could get the dent out using blocks, but it would mess up your paint.
Downtubes are under tension when riding, so it’s not going to buckle on you. Unless you are really pushing the design limit if the bike, you should be fine.
Rarely do we see these kinds of posts where the damage is legit but also not serious. Steel is your best friend here. Huge bummer about the damage though.
It’s a Karate Monkey. In the event of Armageddon there will be cockroaches and Karate Monkeys left. It will be fine.
