Hi! It’s my first post here but I’ve always been a silent reader, so many question has been answered thanks to the Internet! But, I have one question and a quick google surf is not enough to ease my feeling.
So, recently I upgraded my groupset front Claris R2000 to 105 5800 (used), I got a really great deal on it and they are in a good condition with minor scratches. But, I noticed that my left shifter is making a loud popping noise on the first click when downshifting from big to small chainring, is that normal? The sound makes me feels so uneasy, my previous Claris doesn’t make this sound as loud as this. I’m a college student from a 3rd world country and I don’t want to keep trying to broke my bike bought with my hard-earned part-time job money. Pardon my english, thanks!

  1. Agreed with the other commenter about the high limit screw. Otherwise, some shifters are just louder than others – especially when shifting without pedalling
