Just got the CF SL 7 eTap. Besides being a damn good looking bike I am not certain what this attachment is. I think it’s a bottle opener.
What do y’all think? What else would you mount here for a 1x?

Front derailleur hanger. You can use the mount for a bunch of accessories if you want, like a chain guide.
It you aren’t planing to install a chain catcher you can simply unscrew it and put the screws back in without the front dereilleur hanger
