It feels like the chain is slipping from the gear teeth. Only occurs in upper gears. I didn’t ride all the way home like that, hoping I don’t break anything.

Everyone defines upper and lower differently.
Not necessary to fix it.
If you continue to lock up your Scott bike with a cable lock, it will be stolen before anything mechanical happens.
