btw – momentum is best, i appreciate if/when you're a noob it is scary but you are far more likely to succeed and also far less likely to fall , momentum offers grip too – when new to off road in order to make the speed seem less you simply look at 20-25-30 metres away (trail depending) and scan back to 5-10 metres and repeat in reverse on loop, your eyes see all whether you register it or not it is locked in, watching the area near your wheel (or 5-10 metres away) in a static view is a route to failure as you are missing your chance to figure obstacles before you get there
