    If the FR-1.3 does not work, you may need a destructive method of freewheel removal.

    “There are older model freewheels where the tool is no longer available. An old Shimano standard has 12 splines of approximately 20mm… Park Tool does not make tools for these freewheel systems.”

  2. A bench vise is best. You may have to remove a nut to make room for the tool. Put the freewheel tool in the vice. Drop the wheel onto the tool. Make sure notches are fully engaged. Grab the rim like a steering wheel, and make a sharp left-hand turn.

    It may take some “ooomph” before it pops loose.

    And…. Why do you want it off ?
