Interesting the SRAM Force version is on sale for $300 less than the Ultegra Di2 version. I tend to prefer Shimano for Road. I think it shifts and brakes better a little better and front derailleur shifting on Ultegra is noticeably better. But SRAM has a better app and gear range choices. I had to take my 105 Di2 CF 7 into a shop because the Shimano app doesn’t update the front shifting levers which is weird. I wonder if the Force version is on sale because it’s not selling as well as Ultegra? At least SRAM sells bikes with latest version of Force. Specialized and others have 2024 bikes with the old version of Force at much higher prices. Any opinions on the new version of Force compared to Ultegra?

  1. SRAM is generally cheaper than Shimano for equivalent group sets, no?

Regarding the previous Force, I have nothing but good things to say about it. It’s great and the interface is very user friendly.

Also, the battery system is just a much better implementation than Shimano. You can either switch a battery if your RD dies mid ride or easily carry an extra one.

SRAM is slightly better when it comes to battery life. If one battery dies you can change it or have a spare if you are going long distance. I had a tough choice between 12 speed dura ace Di2 and new Force group. Because of the price of dura ace I ended up getting that bike. If the new sram red comes out next year I’ll upgrade it. But I’m happy. Running 1by on a sram bike is way better than Shimano 1by.
