The 2023 Tour de Suisse kicks off with a flat 12.6km time trial on the shores of the Sihlsee lake, starting and finishing in Einsiedeln. There are a few technical turns and a final rise to the line, but it’s definitely a route that favours the powerful TT specialists.

fun fact. Evenepoel wasn't forced to leave the Giro and had no obligation to leave it, as both WHO and Italian health authority formally declared the pandemic over about a week before the Giro started.
And, if he really wanted to stay and compete for GC, he could have taken one of those pricey anticovid antibody cocktails that get you back on track, and non infectious, in 24h. To be ready to start just after the resting day. And indeed, as covid was circulating in the peloton before the Giro started, teams could/should have be giving to riders a vax boost shot for peace of mind.
