I’ve read about frame/model differences in the US and EU but most of comments were a year ago. The support and website assured me that the frame exact as it’s described on the website. I’m new to cycling but I also wanted fancy design and thus I picked Canyon brand.
The site has fake information – “We do it by expertly filing down and sanding the welding seams, so they’re almost invisible to the casual observer.”
So I received the bike and it has ugly welding. The box even has had a label Model EDR 7, so it looks like it’s a fake advertisement from canyon and US warehouse is shipping old frames under new name. I know that many will say that it’s a good bike and just keep it and start cycling, but I don’t like when I buy one thing and receive another one.
The funny thing is that the support said that it was a glitch in the system that I received an old model, but then said that the SN for bike reference to EDR 8. I asked like if I’ll order a new one will I get what advertised and support said yes, but I decided to go with CF that I initially wanted.
This post can be usefully for those who made their choice as me, to get AL with the frame close to the CF look. Will see how quickly they will do the refund as return label they sent me very fast.
