영상에서 못다 한 이야기
2024년 8월 3일 파리 올림픽 남자 도로 사이클 경기. 벨기에의 렘코 에베네풀은 단독 선두로 달리던 중 결승선까지 약 4km를 남기고 타이어가 펑크 났습니다.
자전거를 교체한 뒤 다시 달린 그는 결국 금메달을 차지했습니다. 일주일 전 개인 도로 독주에서도 우승했던 에베네풀은, 같은 올림픽에서 남자 개인 도로 독주와 도로 경기를 모두 제패한 최초의 남자 선수가 됐습니다.
은메달은 발랑탱 마두아스, 동메달은 크리스토프 라포르트가 가져갔습니다. 마지막 순간의 변수까지 버텨낸 선수와 빠르게 대응한 지원 인력이 함께 완성한 우승입니다.
