The day after Mont Ventoux is no rest β Stage 8 is the longest stage of the entire Tour de France Femmes 2026, 171.9 km from Sisteron across Haute-Provence to the CΓ΄te d’Azur. Officially labelled “flat,” this route animation shows exactly why that label doesn’t tell the whole story.
π Stage 8 Overview
– Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026
– Distance: 171.9 km β Sisteron β Nice (longest stage of the race)
– Classification: Flat (deceptively so)
– Elevation gain: ~1,900m

πΊ Route Breakdown
– First 76.5 km trend gradually uphill out of Sisteron
– Col des Robines β 2.6 km at 4.6%, around km 60 β the steepest ramp of the first half
– Col de Toutes Aures β 6.4 km at 3.1%, summit 1,124m β the highest point of the day
– From there, the route turns mostly downhill through the Var valley toward the coast
– CΓ΄te de Colomars β 1.4 km at 4.5%, inside the final 20 km
– CΓ΄te de la GinestiΓ¨re β 2.5 km at 4.4%, inside the final 10 km β the last launch pad for late attacks

π΄ With legs already emptied by Ventoux the day before, these two closing climbs are enough to make a clean bunch sprint unlikely β expect fatigued GC riders and opportunists both eyeing the finale, before the race’s mountainous grand finale around the Col d’Γze on Stage 9.
