Hey y’all
Looking for a bike that would be good for city commute and some occasional dirt roads. Something that is fast and comfortable, so it would probably have to be light – 10 -12 kg – and have more of an upright geometry.
My rides would be for the most part shortish (not more than 2-3 miles at a time) on asphalt, but occasionally definitely more than that (10 – 20 miles), and off-road partially. I would also definitely want to be able to attach some type of basket to the bike as I’d be carrying stuff around with me sometimes, and splash guards. My budget is up to 1000 USD.
**I’m debating whether to get a “hybrid” bike as that seemingly is what I’m looking for, or because I’m willing to pony up a few more dollars for speed and comfort, a gravel or perhaps a lightweight hard tail.**
It seems that a gravel bike is ideal, but I’m not sure if the extra few dollars is really worth it.
I’m 5’10”, 145 lbs, slightly bow-legged, with longish arms and legs.
Basically, I’ve narrowed down the choice to the following, as these are what are available in my area, and would be very grateful for any recommendations/tips in light of my requirements. Apologies if I’ve bloated the list with bikes that are heavier and wouldn’t seemingly be suitable, but any feedback is appreciated:
