Here’s your perfect 1 week Provence itinerary! 🇫🇷
Provence is one of the most incredible regions of France. Home to wine, art, beautiful lavender fields, tons of Roman ruins, and lots of gorgeous landscapes, it lives up to all the hype.
Here’s how to spend your time there:
Arles (1 night) – Arles is a small city with some beautiful Roman ruins and buildings covered in ivy. Eat at L’Epicier Moderne while in town.
Saint Remy (1 night) – Take the bus to Saint-Remy and enjoy this beautiful but expensive town famous for Van Gogh’s time here. Eat at L’Aile ou la Cuisse for dinner!
Avignon (3 nights) – Continue to Avignon, which has a lot to do and makes for a great base to see the Rhone wine region, lavender fields, and the famous Pont Du Gard. Eat at Milk Shop for breakfast, drink wine at Tapis Rouge, and have dinner at Le Vintage.
Aix-en-Provence (2 nights) – This city has a ton of art museums, nearby hiking, and Cezanne’s studio. Eat at La Fromagerie du Passage, Le Bistrot, and Maison Weibel.
haVE more time in the area? Amazing! Two weeks in the area is even more ideal! Here’s how to spend your second week:
Explore the Luberon – This area is famous for hiking, bike trails, and lavender fields. Stay in Sault for a good base.
Camargue National Park – This national park south of Arles has flamingos, marshes, horses, and tons of beautiful waterways.
Drive around – Rent a car and go drive around all the cute little towns in the area. If you want a tour guide, check out @travellingprovence.
Spend more time in Aix – Honestly, this city is so great you could spend a week here!
Provence is an amazing region that totally lives up to all the hype you hear about its charm, beauty, history, food, and activities. I would suggest avoiding July and August because it’s sooooooo unbearably hot. Try May or June!
