Say hello to my latest purchase. It's a Maruishi RX-7 from (maybe?) 1985. Shimano 105 derailleur, super light Ishiwata EXO Steel frame, NITTO bars and stem, and decals and parts that survived the test of time.

I bought it from someone in my area for less than $100, and it was in pretty rough shape. It had the ugliest bar tape with some sort of swirly zebra pattern, a big-ass brown cruiser seat that didn't match anything and a frame caked with dust and grease. (The second picture is what it looked like when I bought it).

I got it serviced, put on new tires, gave it a good wipe-down, wrapped new bar tape on it that matched it better and put on a proper road-bike seat.

I feels AWESOME to ride. Only problem is that the brain genius that owned it before me apparently put on a seat post that is just barely too small, even with a shim he tried to shove in there. Which means the seat swivels back and forth which isn't ideal, so I've still got that to fix.

I'd like to keep it, especially as a nice 1980s survivor. I haven't seen too many of these.

I'd love to hear what you think about it! Should I keep it? Sell it? Lemme know!

Thanks for reading! -Newman
