Hello! I recently took possession a Gios Torino from a late friend of mine. He obviously changed out a lot of the original parts for some reason but I want to get it back as close to original as I can. I do have some questions about it however.
1: What year would this dinged up beauty be from? The logos are set against a white background so it's not one of the earliest ones, the fork crown is engraved with a GT logo (And I think previously painted in? It's a dull brown now), and the same GT logo is cut out of the BB shell, so it's not a later model. Maybe 77-78?
2: What components would have come on this bike? I assume the Campy Strada crankset is fitting, but the date code stamped in is for a 1982 manufacture, so it might've been put on later.
3: The least important question for me, I've heard there were some fake Gios Super Records made, how would I know if its genuine? If it is genuine I'll keep things more original, but if it is an imitation, I might go the route of a light resto-mod.
