Saw a Crux DSW frameset that is relatively cheap. Decided to transfer the components from my first bike – Giant Revolt alloy – to this bike.
Almost all (GRX RX400 rear D, 2×10 shifters, 11-32T HG500 casette, stem/handlebar, chain, saddle and wheels) could be transferred except for the seatpost and the 2x tiagra crank. Bought a new GRX RX600 40T crank for the built that basically made the built a 1x. Bought an Elita One carbon seatpost to replace the bigger one used by Giant.
Other than the frameset, I only spent about US$300 extra for the new components and labour (I have no skills or time to do this).
Not sure at all whether 40T crank and 11-32T casette will give me the gear ratios I need for my riding. But the main aim of this is for me to ride around with my 7yo son and go around relatively flat gravel trails and some roads.
Possible upgrade next year:
– Good 1by groupset with 46T crank and big casette. Would love to know what groupset I shouldnconsider?
– Make the bike slammed and use a riser handlebar (I think it looks cool)
