Here I got the chance to tour around historical sites including the iconic Sinking Bell Tower in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, it is a 45-meter (150-foot) 17th-century structure. Built in 1612, it sinks about an inch annually into the sandy soil, requiring visitors to duck to get through a doorway that once accommodated a rider on horseback.
Also was able to taste once again the Ilocos Empanada a famous deep-fried pastry from the Ilocos Region of the Philippines, easily recognizable by its vibrant orange shell and savory fillings. Made from crisp rice flour and stuffed with local ingredients, it is a staple street food that offers a distinct contrast of textures and flavors.
