The highlight of the day: the climb up to the Paltinu Dam, with switchbacks above the lake and a fast descent back toward Tesila. The road through the Doftana Valley remains one of the most spectacular rides near Bucharest — good tarmac, light traffic, and mountain scenery just an hour and a half from the capital.
