Day 1 of 8 of us cycling the #wildatlanticway, and honestly, we almost didn’t make it out of Kinsale. Every time we thought we were ready to leave, we’d stumble across another colourful street, another little shop, or another excuse to stop for coffee. It’s the kind of place that’s very easy to fall in love with.
Once we finally got rolling, we traded the coast for the West Cork countryside. Quiet roads, rolling green hills, tidal inlets, a lunch stop in Clonakilty, and some pretty incredible views around Glandore. It was one of those days where we weren’t in a rush to get anywhere. We just kept stopping, taking it all in, and letting Ireland surprise us around the next corner.
That evening, we rolled into Skibbereen and checked into our first B&B of the trip. The hospitality was every bit as warm as we’d been told.
Day 1 done. On to the next stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way!
