For years I‘ve been riding my old trekking bike in the city whenever I had to leave the bike unattended or somewhere outside overnight. After realising that I haven‘t changed the gear (it got 28 of them) in over a year I decided it was time to loose some weight. As I‘ve got other bikes for longer tours and bikepacking, there‘s simply no need for a trekking bike. I had two criteria for the new bike: Cheap, so I could leave it outside overnight or at the train station without worrying too much; simple, so I can fix everything myself. Got this beauty for less than 300€ and I‘m very happy after the first ride. I‘m planning to wax the chain so I don’t need to worry about getting my clothes dirty, but otherwise I‘m very happy as it is.
