Hey guys,

I bought an old trekking/cross Bike and put a surly corner bar on it that I got for cheap locally. It rides pretty nicely and even has close to a modern gravel geometry. But I've been getting some knee pain when riding lately and I suspect the quite massive q-factor might be the reason. I measured it to 190mm.

The bike has a 3×9 xt drivetrain, a 68mm BSA square-taper bottom bracket and 47,5mm chainline. The crank arms are flared outwards quite a bit and there's more than enough room towards the chainstays. The cranks are Shimano fc-m442/443.

Now I'm looking for a cheap way to reduce the Q-factor, but I'm kind of stumped. This is my first project bike and I don't want to sink all too much money into it.

Help much appreciated.
