My Grail Build is finally 99% complete!

After selling my Grail SLX and moving on to the Grizl and Cube Nuroad, chasing the trend of wide tires (which ultimately proved useless for me), I decided to scale back on that and go all-in on a Grail CFR frameset in Granite Marble color:

  • Schwalbe G-One R Pro 45/40
  • Campabros Stage 3 inserts (40g each, but -0.3/0.4 bar pressure)
  • Ryet X 50mm wheelset
  • SRAM XPLR E1 mixed groupset: Force brakes/chain/cassette; Rival derailleur/Quarq crankset (Force cranks are coming to make it 100%)
  • Pass Quest 44T chainring (not recommended since 4.2mm offset doesn't work at all with the 1x required chain line. Garbaruk 44T with same 6.5mm original offset is coming)
  • Ceramic Speed bottom bracket
  • Fizik Vento R1 Light saddle
  • Toseek -17° stem
  • Bontrager RSL 39cm aero bars (375 grams for the full cockpit)

What an amazing bike to ride!

I'll be opening a thread soon to compare the CFR and SLX in the canyon, as I've made the switch on both the Aeroad and the Grail, and the (lack of) difference is quite interesting…

Amazing setup, especially the wheels, group and aero chainring selection.

Personally, I don‘t like that bicolor frame design with the hard „cut“ in the middle, but that‘s personal taste.

    Couple of questions:
    – A Cube bottle cage on a Canyon – is that permitted? 😉
    – Why are you riding such a short stem? I imagine it might be a bit „nervous“
