I'm pretty familiar with bunny hops, but I still have trouble understanding the "pull" in some situations.

In the video, you can see some riders simply riding through the section, while others are "pulling". My understanding is that a pull is basically similar to a bunny hop, but here they don't appear to do the initial part of the movement. Instead, they just seem to compress and then stand up without really pulling on the bars.

Can someone explain how to do it properly ?
