Funny idea: I have a vintage peugeot "trophy" and I love that it has the peugeot crankset… but it would be nice to have a buttery smooth and light external bb instead of a square taper…. Anyone know if an adapter exists that would allow me to mate a square taper crankset with an external bb lol? If such a thing doesn't exist, I'll just give her a good rebuild.
Work in progress crappy pic. This thing is going to be so sick when I'm done with it. Reupholstered silly seat, better seatpost, tasteful patches and pins on the old Norco cargo pack… thinking about single speed while using the over tightened rear derailleur as a spring tensioner? You cant see it but the non-drive side tire labels are orange with mandarin or Japanese characters (matchy af) and a more knobby tread to match the vibe. Already converted to a one-by. Changed the cable housing from black to transparent (might upgrade to new simworks stuff later) clipless pedals were changed to some sleek HT platforms. Side pull brakes were upgraded for safety. The bike was free but I had to travel for it. It was a guy's childhood bike and I want to keep most parts as og as possible.
Edit: thanks for the info and suggestions! I know this bike is low tier and not worth modding and upgrading…. but on the contrary, why not mod and upgrade tf out of it if it isn't worth anything? If it makes me giggle then I think that's a win for me!
