I’m a full-time college student, and I suffered a horrible Lisfranc rupture in February that has disrupted my ability to get the exercise, mostly lifting, that kept me sane. I’d never been a huge bike person, but I realized that a road bike would be a great way to get outside and get moving without aggravating my foot, so I took to Marketplace and scored her for $125. She ain’t perfect, but I’ve been fixing her up and she rides beautifully.

Having an old bike to wrench on has been wonderful not only for exercise, but as an outlet for my mechanical side; I’m a huge car nerd but I don’t have the space/money to work on my own car. The stem shifters were put there by the previous owner and they aren’t terrible, but my next project will be converting them back to downtube.

As I’ve learned more about old bikes and taking care of them, I’ve been lurking on this sub and drooling over all y’all’s gorgeous bikes. Just thought I’d contribute 🙂
