Old: 2006 Trek 1000 SL aluminum frame, manual shifting and rim brake pads. Bought in 2009 for $285 and replaced almost everything except shifters and frame.
New 2026 Trek Checkpoint SL5 AXS Gen 3 with carbon frame, electric shifting, and hydraulic disc brakes.
I put about 5-7k miles per year on it. I ride 5 days a week 7 miles each way to work and do yearly big rides with friends and family.
I’m hoping the new one lasts me another 20 years.
The old one was always been a bit too big for me and I’m excited to have a bike sized properly.
