I just landed in Nairobi to race Migration Gravel this week and I built up this new 2026 Ventum GS1 specifically for this event.
At the last minute I moved from a Red XPLR setup to an Eagle one to have the extra range, though I thought about testing the Garbaruk 13 speed XPLR cassette. I inevitably went with the Eagle setup since it's a more familiar setup. I have a couple other big races this year – The Rift 200k and Big Sugar Gravel. I'll likely keep the bike specs pretty close to this:
🚴🏽: Ventum GS1 (Onyx), SRAM Eagle XX SL, 10-52 cassette, 42T chainring
🛞: Continental Dubnital Trail Rapid 2.2 front and Race Rapid 2.0 rear on Zipp 303 XPLR SW rims, OG Silca sealant
🔧: Apidura Aero System, 3D printed anti bottle ejection band on the read bottle, Garmin 840 Solar and Varia radar in case I get chased by a wild animal
