As title says – I bought this beautiful 80s Bianchi off marketplace. I think she sat in a garage for years and somehow has nearly all original trimmings and parts, including a Campagnolo derailleur. Shockingly it's almost in rideable condition, there's just a tooth missing off one derailleur gear and the brakes need tuning.
I need advice on one thing though: what can I do about this heavily chipped and cracked paint? I was thinking in the short term to use some rust reverser on the worst spots and apply boiled linseed oil or a clear coat. Long term I was considering stripping and repainting, but I can't get to that for another 6-12 months. Can I do anything to preserve it in the meantime?
(I'm aware paint jobs are a terrible financial and material project decision but hopefully we can all agree this is for the love of the game 😩)
