In July and August 2025, I spent 11 days cycling 736 km from Nevers to Rennes, following the Loire River to Nantes before turning north towards Brittany.
Along the way, I passed through vineyards, historic towns and some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve cycled through in France.

Day 1: Nevers to Sancerre (53 km) – Les Portes de Sancerre Campsite
Day 2: Sancerre to Châteauneuf-sur-Loire (100 km) – Camping La Maltournée
Day 3: Châteauneuf-sur-Loire to Beaugency (63 km) – Camping Val de Flux
Day 4: Beaugency to Amboise (81 km) – Hotel Chaptal (indoor bike storage available)
Day 5: Amboise to Montlouis-sur-Loire (30 km) – Camping de Montlouis-sur-Loire
Day 6: Montlouis-sur-Loire to Candes-Saint-Martin (69 km) – Camping Belle Rive
Day 7: Candes-Saint-Martin to Angers (75 km) – Camping des Varennes
Day 8: Angers to Nantes (92 km) – Camping Belle Rivière
Day 9: Nantes to Guémené-Penfao (73 km) – Camping Hermitage
Day 10: Guémené-Penfao to Bourg-des-Comptes (53 km) – Camping des Deux Moulins
Day 11: Bourg-des-Comptes to Rennes (45 km) – Le Nemours Hotel (outdoor bike storage available)
