Weekly Grocery haul for our family of 12. Here is our meal plan for the week:

Wednesday: Chilaquiles, Dinner: Lamb Kebabs, Cous Cous, Greek Salad, Pita Chips
Thursday: Charcuterie Board, Dinner: Tacos & Beans
Friday: Baked Potatoes, Dinner: Tuesday Chicken [oven fried], Peas, Rice, Salad w/ Buttermilk Dressing
Saturday: Sandwiches, Dinner: Burritos
Sunday: Crockpot Pork Roast, Dinner: Nachos w/ beef Tomatoes, Lettuce, Sour Cream
Monday: Tuna Melts, Dinner: Costco Food
Tuesday: Bean Burritos, Dinner: Harvest Party/ Halloween Snacks

We go to Costco, Trader Joe’s, and Lincoln Market. We bring Naomi (15), Anna (11), Chloe (9), Enoch (7), Melody (4), and Moses (2).

Amber and Marc, I bet the two of you wish you could have a big home so you could make a lot of the things Sarah and Solo make. Like the homemade breads, yogurt, things like that. I know you have said you want to do that Amber. Kind of hard to do in an apartment with 10 kids. I see Naomi went to Trader Joes with you this time. Your family reminds me of me growing up in a family of 8 kids.
I can relate to hungry growing people. All their activities make them hungry.
I had a ravenous appetite growing up.
I can relate to the boys helping them selves to second and third helpings.
It reminds me of my older brother with an empty plate wanting seconds.
Lining up at the stove. lol. Waiting for a second helping.
The food is so delicious because it is all good hearty food. Real food.
I don't blame you for buying the kids a slice of pizza once a week at the store.
And, a donut here and there. You are in New York after all.
I bet there is a million restaurants to try and it takes time to get around.

Cornflakes was the only cereal when I was a kid. It was either that or puffed wheat. I grew up in the 70's.
At least they get one pick of treats each shopping trip. That's a good idea.
My Dad would buy a giant box of aero root biscuits and that was our cookie supply for the week. I love aero root cookies.
Cookies don't last long with growing kids. I'm glad you balance it out with hoe cooked meals every day.

Since NY is an apple growing state, apple picking might be a nice weekend outing for the family. There are orchards within a 1 1/2 hour drive.

The Costco rotisserie chicken is my favorite shortcut for soups. The meat is still very tender, and holds up well when added to broths/stews.

If you buy Granny Smith apples they are crisp and long much longer ! Apples that are over ripe can be used in muffins.

Read about that Poland Springs water. It is full of Chemicals you should not be drinking. It is no longer sourced from the spring in Maine but all over. Please find a better choice.
