I'm considering buying this vintage Colnago road bike and would appreciate some help identifying it.
From the photos, can anyone estimate:
- The model
- Approximate year or decade it was made
- Whether it appears to be an authentic Colnago frame
- Estimated frame size
- Frame material (if possible)
- Whether it looks like a quality frame worth restoring
My height is 178 cm (5'10"), and I weigh around 83–85 kg.
My goal is not to keep it fully original. I would like to build a neo-retro/restomod bike using modern components (modern drivetrain, wheels, tires, etc.) while keeping the classic steel-bike aesthetic.
Do you think this frame would be a good candidate for that kind of build?
Also, based on the condition visible in the photos, what would you consider a fair purchase price for the bike or frame?
Any details about the frame, era, tubing, geometry, or value would be greatly appreciated.
