For 6 weeks I’ve cycled the Peru Divide (starting from Lima), covering about 1500km.
An amazing journey which resulted in stunning views, passes of (almost) 5000m and lots of weight loss.
I learned some valuable lessons along the way. As a result I made some upgrades to my setup in the first big city after the Divide: Cusco.
– Tubes to tubeless
– Smaller chainring (42 to 38)
– Larger cassette (11-42 to 11-46)
– Front rack for better weight distribution (made by a local welder)
– Black bull added to the front rack to scare off backpackers
Now, let’s hit the road to La Paz!
