Hi looking for advice between two used options for a first pure road bike. I’m in NYC and around the size range for a 58cm.
Option 1: 2016 Cervelo R3 Ultegra — $1,500
- Shimano Ultegra 2×11, but with 105 shifters
- Roval SLX24 wheels
- Rim brakes
Option 2: 2022 Cannondale CAAD13 custom build — $2,300
- SRAM eTap Red shifters, 12-speed rim brake
- SRAM Force eTap FD/RD, 48/35 and 11/34
- Ultegra cassette/chain
- 105 direct-mount rim brakes
- Corima 47mm carbon wheelset
- Continental Gatorskin 700×25
- Speedplay pedals
I’m slightly unsure how much to value the aluminum CAAD13 frame vs the older carbon Cervelo frame, and how much risk to assign to the custom CAAD build. Is price fair for either?
