Hi everyone,
I got this bike for free from a friend’s parent, who bought it online many years ago. It had surface rust everywhere, no brake cables, no tyres, and all the bearings were very stiff. Since then, I completely took the bike apart, cleaning and greasing everything in the appropriate places, and replacing the tyres and cables while trying to keep all the parts as original as possible.
I tried Googling this bike, but I couldn’t find much information about it.
My plan was to start swapping modern parts onto it, particularly the brakes, as they are pretty weak even at the best of times and don’t feel safe enough to take on roads yet.
Do you guys have any information on this bike? Is it worth trying to make it reliable with modern parts? Is that even feasible? Is it rare? 😂
You can probably tell I don’t know much about vintage bikes, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
