After 40+ yrs & over 100,000 miles of transportation cycling and bike touring, I had never put my bike on a trainer and watched a cycling video before. Off the road and recovering from surgery, I chose this Lake Como tour for my first ride.
I've bike toured though the Brescia, Verona & Umbria regions of Italy, but this video was so much better. The scenery is stunning and beautifully filmed. It kept me clipped in and engaged all the way and left me dreaming of more bike tours!
Only one concern to include for feedback for the filming cyclist. Pointing out a pedestrian who steps into your path without looking is hard to watch considering the close calls with pedestrians in crosswalks, one pushing a baby carriage. There were no verbal or bell warnings to cyclists, when passing, all of the stop signs were run through, there was weaving in and out to pass traffic in a construction zone and no one pulled over to allow the emergency vehicle safe passage. Now imagine all of the other road users complaining about this type of cycling behavior. Where I live
this can earn you a traffic violation, a trip to the hospital and/or evidence of liability in a court case. All cyclists are vulnerable and should seriously take this into consideration.
I'm not sure yet if this is common with bike tour videos, but with hundreds of thousands of views, video tour guides should consider the examples they set.
