Hello fellow cyclists!

I've started writing up select episodes from a recent bicycle trip to, and through, West Africa. I'd love to share my work here.

Just two stories so far, this one is a play-by-play of a night we spent in a fishing village in Mauritania.

The other, linked below, is about how people-smuggling gangs are using AI to trick young men with poor digital literacy into attempting the often deadly trip to Gran Canaria, from Nouakchott.

My favourite cycling writer is the inimitable Dervla Murphy, who died age 90 in 2022. Absolute legend.

And I am working on an idea for a book about cycling and food. So if anyone has any particular anecdotes or strongly held feelings about the food one eats when touring, or how touring has impacted your relationship to food, I'm all ears!
