I have a bike with a really weird belt mechanism and I want to change to a fixie, is it possible?

I just picked up this Mercedes Benz bike on marketplace a couple days ago for really cheap. My plan is to change it to a fixie and if that is not possbile I will jist sell it.

The thing is, it has this really weird belt mechanism and I don't know anything about it.

If anyone knows anyhing about this or has experience with this I would love some advice!
