Just thought I would post a couple of before and after pictures of my vintage Benotto Italian built road bike. I believe it’s an 1982-83 850 Paris Roubaix Model. Unfortunately the Paris Roubaix decal disintegrated when solvent hit it while removing the stuck seat post.
I replaced the stem, seat post and seat, new Shimano 600 brakes, cleaned and tuned both SunTour derailleurs, NOS SunTour six speed freewheel. New cables and bar tape, bottle cages, tubes and tires. Forks and bottom bracket are nice and smooth, got a second opinion from a good mechanic friend. Replaced the old saddle with a Brooks C15, and yes I put Shimano SPD mountain bike pedals on it for now. I may replace with Speedplay in the future. I kept the rattraps and old bottle cage for any purist ride out there.
